Archiving of the Barrios Altos case due to Amnesty Law
Amnesty Law 26479 determines that the Barrios Altos case against Grupo Colina will be archived
After initiating the judicial process against members of the Colina Group for the Barrios Altos massacre, the military court filed a jurisdictional dispute. However, before this was resolved, Law 26479 was passed, which granted amnesty to the accused and led to the case being shelved. This law prevented the investigation and punishment of those responsible for one of the most emblematic massacres of the internal armed conflict.
