Criminal Court revokes inapplicability of amnesty in Barrios Altos case
Criminal Court of Lima revokes inapplicability of amnesty, orders its application in Barrios Altos case
The Eleventh Criminal Chamber of the Superior Court of Lima declared null the resolution that had declared inapplicable the amnesty law 26479 in the Barrios Altos case, and consequently declared it applicable to the process followed against members of the Colina Group. The Court argued that the power to grant amnesty has no limits and that the law was not antagonistic to the Constitution or international human rights treaties.
