Promulgation of Legislative Decree 046 Anti-Terrorism Law
Government enacts Legislative Decree 046 criminalizing terrorism, generates controversy
On March 10, the government promulgated a special law, Legislative Decree 046, which typifies the crime of terrorism. The PAP and the left expressed their concern for the scope and dangers that this law could have for the exercise of freedom of expression, press and association. This law was very controversial and generated protests from different political sectors.
