Los Molinos ambush against the MRTA
MRTA ambushed in Los Molinos while trying to take Tarma, many military cadres died.
On April 28, 1989, the MRTA attempted to take the city of Tarma in Junin, but were ambushed in Los Molinos. Many of their most valuable military cadres were killed in this confrontation. This event frustrated the MRTA's attempt to expand into Junín and represented a significant blow to their military capacity.
