The bus transporting the Húsares de Junín regiment, the presidential escort of Alan García, after the explosion on June 3, 1989, of a bomb that claimed the lives of Víctor Camacho Ramos, José Janjachi Toribio, Roby Cavero Cárdenas, Elisman Cueva Luiulla, Marco Ojeda Cárdenas, and José Monforte. The attack was attributed to the MRTA, which allegedly acted in retaliation for the confrontation at Los Molinos, Junín, on April 28 of that year, in which more than sixty emerretistas were killed in an Army ambush.
