Bodies of the victims of the confrontation in the district of Molinos in Junín. On April 28, 1989, in the district of Molinos, province of Jauja, members of the Army clashed with a column of the MRTA. During the fighting, 63 subversives and six Army members were killed; in addition, 19 soldiers were wounded. After the confrontation, the security forces conducted a sweep operation in the districts of Huertas and Los Molinos and detained several local residents, some of whom were extrajudicially executed and others disappeared after being taken to Fuerte Cáceres and the Cuartel 9 de Diciembre. In the end, 63 bodies were admitted to the morgue of the Jauja hospital. Of these, five belonged to individuals who were not members of any of the conflicting groups (three were local residents and two were transport workers). Three MRTA bodies were identified by their relatives and 55 were buried as unidentified (NN).
