Armed Forces enter Ayacucho emergency zone
2,000 Army troops enter emergency zone in Ayacucho
Around 2,000 Army troops went into action in the emergency zone. The government ordered the intervention of the Armed Forces in the anti-subversive struggle under the command of General Clemente Noel Moral. The national security subzone E was reorganized, covering 5 provinces of Ayacucho and all of Huancavelica, extending the subzone to the province of Andahuaylas.
