Increase in sexual violations by subversive groups
Increase in sexual violations by PCP-SL and MRTA in 1995-1996 despite their weakening.
During the period 1995-1996, when the presence of the PCP-SL in the country was minimal, the proportion of rapes committed by the PCP-SL and the MRTA increased. This data is striking because it contradicts the condemnatory discourse of these groups regarding sexual violence and occurs in a period of weakening of these subversive organizations.
