Martyrs of Uchuraccay. Fragment of the documentary "Traces of the path"
This is a chapter excerpted from the documentary film "Las huellas del sendero" (The Footprints of the Path), directed by Luis Cintora. This segment deals with the events of 1983, when eight journalists and a guide were murdered in the Ayacucho community of Uchuraccay. Residents who confused the journalists with Sendero Luminoso terrorists have been identified as the perpetrators, although many of the bereaved families believe the true authors of this crime were members of the armed forces.
