Tarata - Terrorist attack. Report
Report from the journalism program Contrapunto (Frecuencia Latina - Canal 2) about what was the most terrible terrorist attack to occur in the city of Lima, Peru. On July 16, 1992, two car bombs exploded in the middle of the central Calle Tarata, in the district of Miraflores. Loaded with more than 300 kilos of dynamite each, the explosive devices not only damaged nearby homes and shops — the force of the explosion killed 25 people and injured 200 others. Sendero Luminoso was responsible for the attack.
