Documentary "Lucanamarca" premieres in Lima

Report on the premiere of the documentary "Lucanamarca" by Héctor Gálvez and Carlos Cárdenas. The film brings together the testimonies of survivors of the massacre of 69 people committed in 1983 by the terrorist group Sendero Luminoso. At the end of its screening, the documentary was applauded by those in attendance. "I find it extraordinary, and I hope more are made. There should be an entire series on emblematic cases of human rights violations told as in this documentary by the protagonists themselves," said documentarian Ernesto Cabellos. Gonzalo García, professor at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, stated: "I believe it is a true document of collective memory that opens up a series of research and reflection avenues, and in that sense I would say it is a work of art and at the same time a document of great political value. Very well made, very interesting and very thought-provoking. It makes you think a lot."
