They May Kill the Flowers but Never the Cantutas. The Families of the La Cantuta Case: Actors in the Search for Truth and Justice
"This document describes, as faithfully as possible, the experience of the family members of the victims of La Cantuta, sets out our relationship with them, and accounts for the personal changes and developments they underwent over time. For methodological reasons, we have divided the document into three parts. In the first chapter, we recount the main events surrounding the forced disappearance of the nine students and one professor from La Cantuta; in the second, we describe our encounter with the family members, the creation and strengthening of bonds with them, as well as the actions taken and the psychological support provided; in the third chapter, we present the process of empowerment followed by them; in the fourth, we provide a brief assessment of this process; and finally, in the fifth chapter, we draw some conclusions."
