Military Justice dismissed proceedings in Cantuta case on October 21, 1994
On October 21, 1994, the War Chamber of the Supreme Council of Military Justice issued a resolution ordering the dismissal of the proceedings in the La Cantuta case, arguing that the crime had been proven but not the responsibility of the defendants. This resolution was confirmed by the Review Chamber of the Supreme Council of Military Justice on October 28, 1994. The resolutions were not known at the time of their issuance but some time later, as part of the impunity strategy.
