The Peruvian Congress approved Law 24651 which establishes prison sentences for those who commit the crime of collaboration with terrorist activities. This law stipulates prison sentences of up to ten years and internment for collaborators. The law was passed in the context of the fight against armed subversion that the country was facing during the government of Alan García Pérez. This legislation was part of the set of legal measures adopted to combat terrorism in Peru.
