Fujimori announces new elections without his participation and deactivation of SIN
President Alberto Fujimori Fujimori, at around 9:00 p.m. on September 16, announced his decision to call new elections, in which he would not participate, and the immediate deactivation of the SIN. This announcement follows the Kouri-Montesinos video scandal and marks the beginning of the end of the Fujimori regime.
