Hikers attack to Uchiza police station
Narco-supported hiker attack on police post in Uchiza
Shining Path PCP attack with the support of drug traffickers on the Uchiza police post. This was one of the largest military operations carried out by the Shining Path, even if it was in alliance with drug traffickers. The lack of government response in support of the besieged police further weakened the image of the García government and forced it to create a political-military command in the area.
