"Lucanamarca" is a documentary film directed by Héctor Gálvez and Carlos Cárdenas. The film brings together the testimonies of survivors of the massacre of 69 people perpetrated in 1983 by the terrorist group Sendero Luminoso. The filmmakers draw on the work of the Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación (CVR) to contextualize the moment the massacre occurred, and also to show how the authorities continued to allow such events during the years of the Peruvian internal armed conflict of 1980-2000.
