25 Years in Prison for Fujimori
In a historic ruling, a Peruvian court sentenced former President Alberto Fujimori to 25 years in prison for human rights violations. Fujimori, 70, was accused of being the intellectual author of the Barrios Altos massacre in 1991 and the La Cantuta massacre in 1992, carried out by an army squad known as the Colina group, and of the kidnapping of a businessman and a journalist.
