Suspicions of Selective Killing of Senderistas in a Lima Prison

Well-founded suspicions that selective assassinations of Sendero Luminoso leaders had been carried out during the assault on the Lima prison of Canto Grande were circulating yesterday in the Peruvian capital. In this context, Peru's de facto president, Alberto Fujimori, refused to receive—an unprecedented act in the history of the Organization of American States (OAS)—the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and prohibited it from accessing the Canto Grande prison.
