We will explain the uses of Peruvian ethnic conflict that allowed Sendero Luminoso to grow for twelve years as a belligerent force, to the point of becoming a real threat to the viability of the Peruvian state, based on an analysis of the process by which the party's leading nucleus was constituted, its Maoist political-ideological project, and the insurrectional strategy applied.
