Terrorism and Dirty War in Peru
This work is divided into five chapters in which different topics and aspects related to Sendero Luminoso are analyzed; additionally, there is a supplementary annex discussing the problems of the armed forces in Peru. The first chapter deals with the theoretical aspects of guerrilla warfare in general and sets out the purpose, strategy, and requirements for it to develop successfully. A brief overview of revolutions and guerrillas in human history is also presented. The chapter explains guerrilla organization, guerrilla development, and the guerrilla leader — who in this case was Abimael Guzmán. In the third chapter, counter-subversive experiences in France and England are explained, along with the different counter-subversive techniques that can be put into practice in an armed struggle. Chapter four addresses the topic of the massacres at Uchuraccay and Accomarca, and the chapter details the strategies of power in Peru: drug trafficking, civil war, fascism, and the communist party.
