Analysis of the Peruvian State's Security Strategy Against Shining Path's Expansion Strategy Between 1986 and 1992
This thesis aims to determine the effectiveness of the security strategy of Peru's governments against the expansion strategy of Sendero Luminoso between 1986 and 1992, identifying the conditions that allowed the Peruvian State to survive during years of great uncertainty, when the danger of total collapse was not only possible but entirely credible. For this exercise, certain events have been observed that could be considered threats to the existence of the democratic regime, destroying aspects as important to this type of regime as the ability to make decisions that are accepted by the population as authoritative.
