Capture of Osmán Morote Barrionuevo
Capture of Osmán Morote, number two of the PCP-SL, by the DIRCOTE
The DIRCOTE captured Osmán Morote Barrionuevo, number two of the PCP-SL. The DIRCOTE did not know who he was until they confirmed his identity during his arrest, as he was carrying false documents. They found him thanks to information on the whereabouts of an important leader, but without knowing who he was. If they had identified him in time, they would have been able to follow his trail and capture all the members of the top leadership who would meet shortly afterwards for the First Congress of the PCP-SL.
