Jorge Cieza Lachos, Hero of Juanjuí. From the Police Academy to Captain and Martyr of the Homeland

The book tells the story of Police Captain Jorge Cieza Lachos, who died bravely in the Peruvian jungle fighting against the terrorist forces that plagued the Peruvian people — specifically against the Movimiento Revolucionario Túpac Amaru (MRTA). The publication chronologically recounts the activities of Officer Cieza Lachos: from the moment he traveled to the Huallaga, through his promotion from Lieutenant to Captain, how the war unfolded in Juanjí, and finally his death and how it went unnoticed by the media — because at that time, the women's volleyball team was returning from the Seoul Olympics after winning the silver medal, causing the memory and the honoring of the hero Jorge Cieza Lachos to fall into oblivion.
