Seizure of Juanjui and San José de Sisa by the MRTA
MRTA took Juanjui and San José de Sisa; government handed over military control to the Armed Forces.
The MRTA took over Juanjui and San José de Sisa in San Martin. As a result of this action, the Government handed over military control of the area to the Armed Forces. This seizure of towns was one of the most important actions of the MRTA in the San Martin region, demonstrating its operational capacity.
