Simultaneous Attacks on Police Stations in Lima
On July 12, 1984, seven police stations in different districts of Lima were attacked simultaneously, marking the beginning of a 'phase of harassment. This event was part of a series of actions by the MRTA to increase their presence in the media and become a significant actor in the internal armed conflict. The attacks were followed by the placement of a car bomb at the Ministry of the Interior on July 25, which did not result in any casualties.
El 12 de julio, siete puestos policiales ubicados en diferentes distritos de Lima fueron atacados en forma simultánea. Esta acción marcó el inicio de la «fase de hostigamiento». Una semana después, el 25 de julio, un «coche bomba» fue colocado en el Ministerio del Interior, siendo esta la primera vez que se hacía uso de esta modalidad terrorista, aunque sin ocasionar víctimas mortales.
