Advisory Opinion on the Legality of the Threat or Use of Nuclear Weapons
On July 8, 1996, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued an advisory opinion regarding the legality of the threat or use of nuclear weapons. The ICJ affirmed that fundamental rules of International Humanitarian Law apply to all states, regardless of whether they have ratified the conventional instruments expressing these principles. These rules are considered inviolable principles of customary international law.
En la Opinión consultiva de 8 de julio de 1996, la Corte Internacional de Justicia se pronunció sobre la licitud de la amenaza o el empleo de armas nucleares.
