MRTA took over Juanjui for second time in campaign against Fujimori's government
The MRTA carried out the second takeover of Juanjui as part of the 'Fernando Valladares Military Campaign', whose publicized objective was to criticize the economic and political conditions imposed by Alberto Fujimori's government. This action was part of simultaneous incursions in Tarapoto, Saposoa, Moyobamba and Rioja.
