Period of intensification of assassinations against popular leaders
Period of intensification of selective assassinations by the PCP-SL against leaders of women's organizations.
During the period 1991-1992, the PCP-SL intensified a process of threats, intimidation and selective assassinations against leaders of popular women's organizations, mainly in Lima and Callao. The PCP-SL considered these organizations as opposition forces that impeded the development of their plans in the city. Among the leaders assassinated were Juana López, Doraliza Espejo, María Elena Moyano and Pascuala Rosado. This was the most acute moment of the Shining Path offensive against the popular leaders.
