Tarata. Artistic intervention. Kevin McCarthy. Part 1
"Tarata" is a video-art intervention that seeks to create memory of our recent past and keep alive the recollection of the most terrible episodes of what was the Peruvian internal armed conflict 1980–2000. Through previously unseen video footage recorded in the days following the attack on Tarata street in Miraflores — July 16, 1992 — Kevin McCarthy shows the devastation wrought by terrorist madness, complementing this visual account with photographs taken by his sister, Ana María McCarthy. Together they construct a moving testimony about what emerges from terror and violence. A project sponsored by Micromuseo Perú.
