June 30, 2008 was the day Vladimiro Montesinos Torres and Alberto Fujimori came face to face after both had fled the government. During the trial of the former president for the Barrios Altos and La Cantuta massacres, his former advisor exonerated him of the charges being tried, while also revealing a complicity between the two similar to what they had when they worked together running the Fujimorist regime of the 1990s.
