I strongly recommend the recent book by Carlos Tapia on the period of political violence and the fight against terrorism that affected the country (Tapia, Carlos 2018. Tiempos oscuros, 1983-1995. Lima: Editorial Otra Mirada), a text that bursts into the discussion about Sendero's past and present, meticulously contributing to reflection on the nature of its defeat, at a time when the elements forming a unified memory of those fateful years are being questioned.
