Family and Intergenerational Transmission of Memories of the Internal Armed Conflict in Ayacucho

The work presented below is the product of a joint effort by the Grupo Memoria at the IEP, with students from the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Universidad Nacional San Cristóbal de Huamanga, and with the support of Project Counselling Service – PCS. In it, we fulfilled the role of facilitators in the processes of recognition of memories of the internal armed conflict from the perspectives of young students in the workshop called "Historias recientes de Ayacucho." There were three working sessions with students in the fourth and fifth years of secondary school at the Gran Unidad Escolar Mariscal Cáceres de Ayacucho. The settings in which the sessions were held also lent themselves to being part of the process of identifying their memories: neutral spaces; spaces with symbols partially linked to the internal armed conflict process; and finally, a space laden with memories of the armed conflict, the Museo de Anfasep.
