Uchuraccay, 30 Years Later: The Same Shadows
Thirty years ago (January 26, 1983), eight journalists went to Uchuraccay to try to find out what had happened a week earlier in Huaychau, and to determine whether the official account of the death of 6, 24, or 25 Senderistas at the hands of peasant community members in the region was true. They paid with their lives for the audacity of going where they had not been invited.
