Peruvian State Asked Forgiveness from the Bereaved Families of El Santa's Victims
The Executive Branch, on behalf of the Peruvian State, today asked for forgiveness from the relatives of the nine disappeared peasants from El Santa, who were kidnapped and extrajudicially executed during the government of Alberto Fujimori by the so-called Colina group. The request for forgiveness was expressed by the Secretary of the Comisión Multisectorial de Alto Nivel (CMAN), Isabel Coral, and the Executive Secretary of the Consejo Nacional de Derechos Humanos, José Burneo, who were present at the Cementerio Municipal del Santa where the victims were given a Christian burial.
