Reparations: How Much Longer Must Victims Wait?
In July 2005, after many years, the State decided to fulfill its commitment to provide reparations to the thousands of civilian, police, and military victims left by the most painful and tragic period in our history, initiated by the deranged actions of the terrorist group Sendero Luminoso. Without doubt, we must be forceful in demanding that terrorism never again takes hold of classrooms and our youth. But with that same force, we must demand that the State fulfill the reparations NOW.
