Shining Path, a Blow in Its Death Throes
When it was thought that Sendero Luminoso had almost disappeared with the capture of "Feliciano," the organization carried out, surprisingly, its most important military action in recent years — an importance derived not from the scale of the attack, but from the deaths of four high-ranking Army officers. With the passage of time, it is now possible to reconstruct what happened and the Government's reasons for failing to adequately inform the public about the events.
