On the Withdrawal of Contentious Jurisdiction from the Inter-American Court by the Peruvian State
The Inter-American Court of Human Rights is a body created by the American Convention on Human Rights, ratified by Peru; the Peruvian State submitted to the jurisdictional competence of that Court, without any reservation, on January 21, 1981. Now, faced with recent rulings against it and others that may follow, the Government is seeking the "immediate withdrawal of Peru from the contentious jurisdiction of the Court," a measure that the Coordinadora Nacional de Derechos Humanos rejects and condemns.
