Shining Path Calls an Armed Strike
The Peruvian guerrilla group Sendero Luminoso called for an armed strike today in the department of Ayacucho, and threatened to kill President Alberto Fujimori and his family if anything happens to their imprisoned leader Abimael Guzmán. In pamphlets distributed in outlying neighborhoods of the city of Ayacucho, the Senderistas threatened to attack Fujimori and his collaborators if they do not respect the life of their leader, who was captured on the 12th of this month.
