The Fujimori Syndrome

The historical background and synopsis of the Fujimori mega-trial are described, and in accordance with psychodynamics, the convergence of narcissistic perversion and paranoid imbalance in the commission of the crimes is established, as well as the identification of the victim with the aggressor. Subsequently, the Fujimori syndrome systematizes the clinical phenomenology observed in Fujimori, his inner circle, and his entourage before, during, and after the historic mega-trial. It is concluded that the Fujimori phenomenon is a morbid process affecting the mental health of Peruvians, and preventive and promotional alternatives to address it are proposed.
