Fujimori's Indigenous Genocide

Alberto Fujimori, the Japanese Dr. Mengele, carried out a sinister plan in Peru to sterilize, on a massive scale, nearly one million indigenous women. He intended, through demographic control, to lower poverty rates. In 2000, following corruption scandals and judicial investigations into human rights violations, Fujimori fled the country and took refuge in his native Japan. The man who had been President of Peru from 1990 to 2000 was at the time detained in Chile. The Mapuche people demanded his extradition and imprisonment in Peru.
