Actions of Shining Path in Peru during the 1980-1990 Decade
This research work is a documentary study whose main objective is to examine the actions of the Sendero Luminoso group in Peru during the decade of 1980–1990. Initially, the geohistorical context in which the research topic unfolds is studied. It is worth noting that Sendero Luminoso is a Peruvian terrorist organization of Maoist tendency. Sendero Luminoso's goal was to replace Peruvian bourgeois institutions with a communist peasant revolutionary regime, presumably initiated through the Maoist concept of New Democracy. Consequently, they carried out numerous violent acts to fight for and implement their ideals; indeed, for more than ten years Peru was subjected to the terrorist group, causing terror, desolation, and death; citizens' lives had no value, and death lurked inside their homes, on the street, and in the countryside.
