The Politicization of the Museum of Memory Exposed - Opinion Column

Salomón Lerner Febres, former president of the Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación, had announced that the Museo de la Memoria to be built in the Campo de Marte would have no ideological or political bias because it would include the perspectives of all sectors: military, police, and victims from both sides. In the same spirit, writer Mario Vargas Llosa maintained that the museum should show, "equally," the crimes of Sendero Luminoso and the fascist methods with which Vladimiro Montesinos and Alberto Fujimori fought them.
