Abimael's Postman Knocked Six Times on the Palace Door
The novelty is that the correspondence between Abimael Guzmán and Alberto Fujimori began on June 2, 1993, as read in the book De puño y letra, authored by the Sendero Luminoso leader. The book was presented by his attorney on Friday evening at the Hotel Riviera. Until now it was believed that the first letter signed by Abimael Guzmán both as himself and as "Presidente Gonzalo" addressed to the former president was the one dated September 15 of that year. Fujimori made it public two weeks later at the United Nations General Assembly. Alongside Guzmán, Elena Iparraguirre, "Miriam," his partner and second in the chain of command, also signed.
