"Three years that changed history". Pro-Fujimori documentary. Part 2
"Tres años que cambiaron la historia" ("Three years that changed history"), a documentary made in 1992 as part of the official Fujimorist campaign to support the 1993 referendum. The film describes how Peruvian political history has evolved since the beginning of the century and appeals to the "oppression and frustration" of Peruvians, in terms of the so-called "official Peru" and "real Peru," to justify the rise of Alberto Fujimori. The documentary divides Peru's history in the 1990s into two parts: the time of "traditional parties" and the time of the "New Democracy," and presents Fujimori as the catalyst between the two. The video is divided into 5 chapters and an epilogue; the titles suggest the main elements of the political discourse: From "Partidocracia" to "Democracy," The legacy of Alan García: A century ruined, Power struggles, The new Peru, We will win, and the epilogue: The triumph of the people.
