Poetry and Internal War in Peru, 1980-1992: a study of poets and civil war in Peru. Summary and prologue in English.

This book undertakes the analysis of a selection of poems by six Peruvian authors written in Peru between 1980 and 1992. My reading centers on the premise that there is an intimate connection between that poetry and the context in which it was produced: a period that has gone down in Peru's history as that of political violence (or internal war), a designation that refers to the violence produced during those years by the armed confrontation between state agents and subversive movements, which dramatically affected the civilian population, primarily in the Andes.
