10 Years of Violence in Peru
This report represents the continuation of the study of the situation during 1990, with one part corresponding to the work done during the Senate session that concluded its activities in July 1990 and the other to the session that inaugurated its activities in August of that year. As with the 1989 report, the Commission has prioritized statistical compilation and its systematization, considering it a useful and objective instrument for analyzing the scenarios of violence currently present in Peru and for formulating fair solutions in the pacification process. At the same time, the Commission has begun studying other aspects, such as the evaluation of results in areas declared under emergency, possible modifications to the so-called anti-terrorist legislation, the state of the anti-subversive strategy, and the expansion of political violence.
