Popular Representations and Reconciliation
Based on focus groups conducted in lower-income sectors of Lima (Miguel Tejada) and in various provinces of the country (Lupe Jara), the authors analyze and highlight several characteristics of the participating groups: their situation of poverty, which has not changed; their persistent distrust toward institutions and authorities; and the perception of feeling excluded and voiceless in broader society. Much remains to be done to heal the deep wounds of the armed conflict and achieve a society free of discrimination. (Excerpt from the presentation).
