Violence, Exclusion and Development. The Experience of the Peasant Communities of Julcamarca
In recent years, accelerated and decisive changes in the international arena as well as in each of the Latin American countries have called into question the meaning and prospects of work promoting social justice on the continent. The erosion of institutional frameworks as well as of social identities and reference points have joined together to generate a landscape dominated by confusion. The reversal of popular processes of social transformation has fed frustration and skepticism. In this context it would seem inevitable for institutions and organizations committed to social justice to adapt to the new times through a drastic reduction of their objectives and activities. This publication gathers the results of the research carried out in Julcamarca. Far from being a mere research report, it aims to be the testimony of a process as well as a reflection on the challenges that spring from it. (Excerpt from the presentation).
