All the Blood. Anthology of Peruvian Short Stories on Political Violence
For a decade and a half, Peru was the scene and victim of a war that had no trenches and no pauses. A war that some wished to ignore and that others, far too soon, want to bury in oblivion. During that period, our literature did not stand still: hundreds of short stories and dozens of novels, written by authors of the most dissimilar political and aesthetic persuasions, appeared throughout those years. The nineteen narratives (short stories and novellas) collected in this publication are definitive proof of the commitment assumed by dozens of Peruvian writers in the face of the problem of social violence. The book is a moving literary document, and includes many of the most significant texts in recent Peruvian letters. It is a poignant testimony to a war that all Peruvians, to varying degrees, had to confront. (Excerpt from the presentation).
